RECIPE OF THE WEEK

When I asked Keith what he wanted for his Father's Day dinner, he said, "I don't care, as long as you make your bread." For most of our manly friends and family this one is a favorite. When we get together with Camie and Manuel we have to make an extra loaf so the two guys won't fight over it. So here it is... in all it's glory,

"MELISSA'S GARLIC CHEESY BREAD"

1 loaf of fresh bakery french bread
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
1 stick of BUTTER (it must be butter)
about 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese (the stuff in the green can works fine)
1 tsp. of garlic salt

cut the garlic bread into even slices
melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl. Add the sour cream, cheese and the garlic salt. whisk until smooth. Spread thickly on each slice of bread. place bread on a large cookie sheet. place on the highest rack of a COLD oven. Turn on the broiler. keep the door propped open, and broil until bread is brown and bubbly on top. MMMMMMmmmmm

Any left over spread can be used in mashed potatoes or kept in the fridge, covered for 3 days.
